P33 - Prophet Elias

Beginning 17th Century, Athens:Byzantine Museum Eliah, one of the first prophets, lived in the 9th Centuryin the Kingdom of Israel. Elijah did not die a natural death, but was instead whirled up to heaven by a great wind in a chariot and horses of fire.- an ascent imbued with mystical significance. Today, Elijha is remembered at the feast of Passover.
